Defining “Partial Hospitalization” (PHP) Care
“Partial hospitalization program” is a misleading term. Patients are not hospitalized, nor does the program take place in a hospital. PHP is the highest level of outpatient (i.e., non-residential) behavioral health care. There are no overnight stays; patients live at home and attend programming daily from Monday to Friday.
Core Recovery’s Addiction PHP Programs
Core Recovery’s Addiction PHP programs treat adults and teens struggling with substance use (e.g., alcohol, opioids, and other legal and illegal chemical substances). Core Recovery also treats patients with non-substance-based addictions like social media, gambling, sex, love, and gaming.
Core Recovery’s Addiction PHP programs provide comprehensive, integrated care, five days per week. Core Recovery’s clinical team includes therapists, psychiatric professionals, registered dietitians, and case managers, all of whom work collaboratively to meet the individualized needs of every patient.
A Treatment Plan Tailored to Your Needs
From the first day of treatment, the Core Recovery clinical team engages meaningfully with every patient to develop a customized treatment plan tailored to meeting that patient’s unique clinical needs and personal goals. Individualized treatment plans include a combination of group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, creative expression therapy, and psychiatric/medication management, as well as other treatments like diet and nutrition counseling that aim to provide the holistic care necessary for lasting wellness.
Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities
Core Recovery uses evidence-based modalities—including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)—to provide each patient with the best possible treatment and care that is backed by the latest clinical data and scientific research.

Our Partnership In Your Recovery Journey
We know that life is busy, and everyone arrives at the decision to enter into an Addiction PHP program from a different life path. Some are stepping down from residential care or a detox program, whereas others may be entering into a PHP as a less disruptive and expensive alternative to residential care. In either case, patients have to decide whether to make a substantial investment of time and effort in their recovery.
At Core Recovery, although we cannot make that decision for our patients, we commit wholeheartedly that we will ensure that the energy our patients invest in their recovery is matched by our clinical and support staff, and that patients’ investment in themselves is rewarded by the transformation that they see in themselves, their relationships, and their quality of life.
