Effectively Manage Stress & Anxiety
Being mindful is to be in the moment and have an awareness of your feelings, thoughts, sensations, and environment. Mindfulness allows you to be open and curious about your experiences.
Practicing mindfulness meditation has proven to be an effective way to manage stress, anxiety, and panic disorders.
How it Works
Mindfulness is the underlying foundation behind all Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. This integration of cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness skills is a powerful treatment for depression, anxiety, addictive tendencies, impulse control, and personality disorders.
DBT balances the validation of an individual’s experience with developing skills to manage crises, regulate emotions, and enhance motivation to change. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy primarily helps patients recognize and change problematic patterns of thinking and behaving. By contrast, DBT primarily helps patients regulate intense emotions and improve interpersonal relationships through validation, acceptance and behavior change.
