Addiction IOP

Core Recovery is not a typical “detox” center. Instead, we provide separate programming for adolescents and adults that focuses on overcoming addictions while also striking at the root of the mental, behavioral, and emotional challenges that fuel addiction and trigger relapse.

Core Recovery’s Addiction IOP

Core Recovery’s Addiction Intensive Outpatient Program treats Arizonans struggling with addiction to alcohol and other legal and illegal chemical substances (e.g., opioids), as well as non-substance-based addictions like social media, gambling, sex, love, and gaming.

Core Recovery’s Addiction IOP provides comprehensive, integrated care, between three and five days per week. Core Recovery’s clinical team includes therapists, psychiatric professionals, registered dietitians, and case managers, all of whom work collaboratively to ensure that—through a combination of therapy, medication, and other integrated treatments—each patient receives the care and tools that they need to overcome their addictions in a lasting, sustainable manner.

Patient-Centered Approach

From the first day of treatment, the Core Recovery clinical team engages warmly, honestly, and empathetically with every patient to develop a customized treatment plan that is tailored to meeting that patient’s unique clinical needs and personal goals. Individualized treatment plans include a combination of group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and psychiatric/medication management, as well as other treatments like diet and nutrition counseling that aim to provide the holistic care necessary for lasting wellness.

Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities

Core Recovery uses evidence-based modalities—including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)—to provide each patient with an enriching and rewarding therapeutic experience.

Our Shared Commitment to Your Recovery

We know that life is busy, and entering into an IOP program is a big commitment. Oftentimes, our patients struggle with deciding whether to invest in their recovery now by entering an IOP program, or to risk waiting until a time when their addiction (and the damage it has done to their lives and relationships) may have gotten worse.

These are personal decisions that no one but you can make. But what we can offer you is our commitment that we will ensure that the time and effort that you put into your recovery is rewarded by the transformation that you see in yourself, your relationships, and your quality of life.

FAQs About Core Recovery's Addiction IOP

A: At Core Recovery we have extensive experiencing treating many types of addiction including drugs, alcohol, tobacco, social media, codependency, gaming, and internet.

A: Outpatient treatment is highly effective in treating all types of addiction, including drugs and alcohol.

Our Adult Addiction IOP is more accessible and flexible than an inpatient program.

Some of the biggest reasons to consider outpatient treatment include:

  • Affordability. Because you can live at home during outpatient treatment, you don’t have to pay the costs of lodging at a residential or inpatient facility — making it more affordable.
  • Flexibility. Our outpatient programs will work around your schedule. This benefits those who feel like they can’t leave their job or family for an extended period for treatment and counseling.
  • Access to family. Throughout the outpatient treatment program, family involvement and support are vital in helping to encourage you to stay on the path to sobriety.

A: The efficacy of outpatient programs—particularly IOPs and PHPs—appear to be as effective as inpatient programs in helping people get and stay sober.

One study found that an outpatient program for alcoholics had a 58% abstinence rate and a 79% improvement rate in patients at a two-year follow-up.

Another study found a 67% abstinence rate for inpatient participants, a 75% abstinence rate for outpatient participants at a 6-month follow-up, a 60% abstinence rate for inpatient participants, and a 68% abstinence rate for outpatient participants at a one-year follow-up.

A review of 12 studies and one review published between 1995 and 2012 found that IOPs and PHPs produced similar reductions in drug and alcohol use and increases in days abstinent compared to inpatient or residential programs.

A: Core Recovery’s IOP programs include medication management, and although each person’s needs are unique, the majority of our clients utilize our providers for their psychiatric care while in our programs. Our providers are able to collaborate with your current psychiatrist to ensure continuity of care.

A: We accept most major insurance policies and offer reasonable cash pay options for those without insurance or without out-of-network benefits.
