Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Core Recovery has Master Level Therapists licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. Our clinicians provide a biopsychosocial assessment and utilize psychological diagnostic tools to identify mental health and substance abuse issues. After the assessment the clinicians create a treatment plan that uses evidenced based treatment strategies to meet the individual needs of patients.
Core Recovery provides an Intensive Outpatient Program that uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT is an integration of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness skills that help people who have mood, depression, anxiety, addictive, impulse control and personality disorders. It is an evidenced based treatment that helps identify the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors and their impact on life situations. It balances validation of an individual’s experience with the development of skills to manage crisis, regulate emotions, and enhance motivation to change.
Adult Mental Health IOP is offered Monday through Friday both in the mornings and evenings for your convenience. Adolescent IOP is offered Monday through Friday afternoons to accommodate school schedules. All groups last three hours. The intensive outpatient program also provides one 1:1 therapy session per week, one medication management appointment per week and one Family System appointment per week.
THE IOP PROCESS AND BENEFITS:
- Group process and interaction (discussion and role play)
- Utilizes a bio-psychosocial approach to strengthening neglected areas of a patient’s life
- Allows entry into the program at any point in the cycle of sessions
- Uses relaxation and visualization techniques
- Provides encouragement and support
- Challenges patients beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and attitude in regards to change
- Assists in learning and incorporating pro-social skills
